Story: In order to be more involved in our community, The Armor Volunteer Fire Co has opened a new website for our community. 11/21/2008 - Armor 1 & Armor 2 respond to Orchard Park Fire
Story: At 0623hrs on November 21st, 2008 The AVFC was alerted for a mutual aid call to the Orchard Park Fire District for a working structure fire at 6244 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Armor 1, Armor 2 and Chief Schmid responded to assist Orchard Park with manpower. Upon arrival, the fire had spread into the attic and crawlspace making fire suppression difficult. Once the fire was extinguished, Armor units remained on scene to assist with overhaul. The home owner was in the house when the fire started, but was able to get himself and the rest of his family out. No injuries occurred during the incident.

10/26/2008 - Armor 2 responds to Hamburg Fire
Story: At 1515hrs on October 26th, 2008 the AVFC was alerted for a mutual aid call to the Hamburg Fire Department for a working structure fire at 257 Charlotte Ave. Armor 2, Armor 7 and Chief Schmid responded to assist Hamburg FD. A crew from Armor 2 went inside the structure to make an initial attack in the upstairs, where the fire started. However, the crews were unable to advance into the room where the fire began, making suppression difficult. Other crews were able to open up the roof and get a good attack on the fire, easing extinguishment. Once the fire was put out, Armor 7 crews assisted with overhaul of the structure. No Injuries were reported during the incident, and nobody was home at the time of the fire
